This is my Purchase Agreement and Terms for the purchase of babies from Fnyff Rats.
Point 1: All rats from Fnyff's, are primarily sold as pets. Rats from Fnyff's and their offspring should never be left in a pet shop, used for feederbreeding or as feeders.
Point 2: The new family agrees to keep me updated about the rat's health and temperament. I would very much like to see pictures and weight and so on. It is always exciting to follow his litter, and their upbringing and growth over the years.
It is very important to me that I can follow the entire litters development through life. I have some rats in my breeding that have deficient pedigrees, so I will know for sure that my lines do not carry anything inappropriate, and if so, I can stop the line if there is found the be disease, aggression or other bad things in the line. This of course also applies for the rats that have a long pedigree. There may be temperament changes or diseases which are hereditary, etc. I will contact you the the rat is 5 and 11 months and I will ask you to fill in some details about the rat via the Contactform.
Point 3: If the rat for any reasons can't continue his/her life in the new family, I wish to be contacted for possible takeover of the rat. Otherwise I can be helpful in finding a new permanent home. Should the rat have a new family, I have to approve it and the same generalt conditions apply. The new family will be required to sign a new contract.
Point 4:
Fnyff's rats are sold on pet agreement, and they are therefore generally not used for breeding. However, permission can be given to the rat for breeding if it is suitable.
There is only a certan known number from each litter that will be used in breeding, so not to spread the same genes to much. There can given permission to breed, with my consent and a signed contract. Do you wish to breed a rat from me, contact me before hand - and we will work it out.
However, I expect that the female is between 6 and 10 months and weighing at least 250g , and the male is over 1 year, and would weigh over 450 grams.
The female should not get more than 2 litters, and there should be minimum of 2 months from the first litter is weaned until she is bred again, and the second litter must be before she turned 18 months. The male should not get more than 3 litters. I can give someone permission on a particular litter by breeding permit, where he/she may only have ONE litter, I will let you know if this is the case, otherwise the above breeding ethics apply.
I also expect that you adhere to my blacklist.
Point 5: As a serious breeder, I do unfortunately have a blacklist, which must be adhered to.
There are people I do not want to sell my rats to (nor posting at) or descendants of my rats. My blacklist (incl. postings) is valid for a minimum of 4 generations, preferably 5 generations. When breeding a rat from Fnyff's you agree to comply with my blacklist and you will of course be sent copy if needed. I do not want to put additional information on my blacklist on the website.
Point 6: As a buyer you are obliged to treat your rat from Fnyff's properly, take it to the vet if needed. You promise to make sure it has a good and healthy life as long as it lives.
Point 6.1: - If I as seller for one reason or another, feel that you have not complied with the above points I can simply require the rat back home, or have it relocated somewhere else. The money is not refundable.
Loan of males for breeding ( "breeding agreement")
Point 1: All 6 of the above clauses (incl. Subclauses) on conditions and buying a rat from Fnyff's applies on borrowing one of my males for breeding. Point 2: I expect to get a baby of my choise from the litter, after the breeder. I choose as number 2. Point 3: There are specific lines I do not want my lines to be mixed with, for several reasons, such as poor health, bad temperament, bad breeding in general, but we can talk about this when agreeing on the mating.
The future litters of the babies must also comply with my blacklist for breeding of certain lines.
(This disclosed, but are not online)
Point 4: The baby I get from the litter, is entirely mine and it is my choice whether or not to use it in my future breeding.
Of coursethe baby will only be used, if no problems occur in the litter which makes that it is irresponsible to breed the babies from the litter.
I will still keep you updated about the rat's welfare, and if a possible problems arise. I therefore expect to have full disposal of the baby. Point 5: If you have a blackliste of any kind this will course be respected, as I also expect you abide by my blacklist.
